All samples of course assume you’re doing everything in your page, but I have to do everything in my code-behind, because on forehand I don’t know what I’ll be binding to my Grid View.
Check out what I’m trying to do, maybe you can help?
Sometimes we need to specify the format of the data from the database, and the way it is rendered in the table, more exactly. NET is a very powerful control that provides an easy interface to add, update, delete, and display data. Net Grid View control populated from the Customers table of Northwind database. It displays 2 columns Contact Name and City of which city is editable via ASP. The identifier column Customer Id is bind to the Data Key Names property.Unfortunately the Data List, unlike the Gridview, does not have all the features such as paging and sorting that are commonly required. So if you still need or want to use the Grid View, but also need more control on the way that the table is rendered, you can use the Grid View events and properties. For a while now I’m trying to figure out why my method, triggered by the Grid View.
